One must do thing in Tokyo is to visit the
waterfront district known as Odaiba, here their is a variety of
shopping mixed in with entertainment facilities and museums. In
the middle of Odaiba is the Pallet Town Shopping center which
includes Toyota's car theme park known as Megaweb. Toyota
Megaweb consists of a large area devoted to displaying some of
their latest cars with other attractions like motion simulator
rides and the E-com ride that is a track of real cars that can
drive by themselves. Other attractions on Odaiba include the
Miraikan Emerging Science Museum the famous Fuji TV Building and
the Tokyo Maritime Museum.
Akihabara is also a great place to visit for anyone
interested in electronics and gadgets, the whole suburb is several
blocks of large buildings selling all sorts of electronics and
computers. Tokyo's Transport museum is also in this suburb. Saturdays
and Sundays are the best time to visit as traffic is banned from much of
the area giving you plenty of room to take in all the sights.
The stylish suburb of Ginza is home to some of the
worlds best brands, companies like Cartier, Tiffany, Versace and Amardi
all have shops in this area. Other companies like Sony, Panasonic,
Nissan and Apple have huge display centers as part of their head office
where you can go in and check out the latest cool gadget or car. Like
Akihabara their is no traffic on weekends in the main street "Chuo-Dori"
but the best time to visit the area is when the sun goes down and the
neon lights and video displays go on.
If you are after something a bit quirky then Tokyo
wont let you down, you can go to such attractions as the Noodle Museum,
The Parasite Museum, the Tobacco and Salt Museum or even the Sewerage
Museum.
