Nilagang Baka, a traditional Filipino dish, is a hearty and comforting beef soup perfect for cool evenings or any time you crave a nourishing meal.
This simple yet flavourful dish features tender chunks of lean beef, simmered to perfection in a rich beef broth with a medley of vegetables. It’s a wholesome meal that’s easy to prepare, making it a favourite in Filipino households.
The key to this dish lies in its simplicity and the quality of its ingredients. Lean beef cubes are gently simmered with onions and peppercorns until tender, allowing the flavours to meld together. Carrots, potatoes, bok choy, and cabbage are then added to the pot, infusing the broth with their natural sweetness and adding texture.
