    2. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the minced beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned and cooked through (about 4-5 minutes).
    3. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion to the pan with the beef. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until the onion becomes soft and fragrant.
    4. Add the grated or finely chopped carrot and sliced mushroom to the beef mixture. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables soften.
    5. Pour the miso sauce and optional chili paste if using over the beef and vegetables. Stir well to coat everything evenly, and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes to let the flavours meld.
