Ingredients
- 20 wooden skewers
- 750 gram lean beef (cubed)
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 3 teaspoon garlic (crushed)
- 4 red chilies (sliced)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon coriander (chopped)
- 2 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon shrimp paste
- 1 tablespoon ginger (crushed)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon seasame oil
- 2 tablespoon seasame seeds
Instructions
- Heat a wok and add a little oil. Add the red chili slices, shrimp paste, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and lime juice. Bring to a boil, being careful not to burn. Add the coconut milk and mix well, simmering but not bringing to a full boil
- Cool the mixture and transfer it to a large bowl. Add the beef cubes, cover, and place in the refrigerator overnight
- Thread the beef onto skewers. Add the vegetable and sesame oil mixture to the remaining sauce in the bowl
- Place the skewers on a hot BBQ, preferably over charcoal, or cook in a pan on the stove. Brush with the sauce mixture and cook until golden brown
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds to garnish and serve with a dipping sauce
