Combine peppercorns, coriander, soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice and sesame oil in a bowl and mix well. Add chicken pieces and onions and mix until all chicken meat is coated with mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Soak wooden skewers in warm water for 20 minutes, then thread chicken and onion onto skewers. Preferably over a hot charcoal grill (but in hot fry pan will do) grill the skewers, adding some of the remaining marinade mixture to the cooking meat. Serve with satay dipping sauce.
