Indonesian Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng)
 

Bring stock to boil and add the tamarind and well washed rice continue to
Boil for 12-15 minutes until rice is tender but not too soft. Drain the rice in cold water and set aside to cool. Break up the tamarind and stir well into rice mix

Peel and slice the onions and garlic, in a wok fry the onions and garlic in oil until soft. Add the tomato, shrimp paste and chilli powder and cook for 2 minutes. Add the beef and season with salt and pepper. Sauté for 10 mins stirring Frequently.

Add sliced celery and chilli cook for further 2 minutes then remove and set aside.

Add 2 tablespoons of oil to the pan and stir in rice, a little at time, continue to add more rice, meat and vegetable mixture until all in pan.

Garnish with dried onion and serve.
